KiNZ is a subsidiary of Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA). The AKA is a charity that was established in 1908 to provide quality early childhood education to the children of Auckland that is accessible, secular, non-discriminatory, and inclusive of the diversity of the children and families/whanau that attend. This philosophy still continues today and is part of the KiNZ philosophy.
At KiNZ we offer a safe and secure environment for children. We value children’s individual strengths, interests and uniqueness. Children are encouraged to make choices to experiment, explore and have fun in well-resourced curriculum areas.
We believe that young children learn best through play experiences. Teachers provide a variety of experiences that challenge and stimulate further learning opportunities. We believe in the importance of creating an attractive and child-orientated environment and our staff act as positive role models in achieving this.
We promote respectful, open and honest relationships between children, parents/whanau, and staff. We believe New Zealand has a unique bicultural heritage and we endeavour to reflect this in our environment and programme. We provide an inclusive environment that honours and respects diversity.
