Signing In and Out
It is a requirement for licensing and safety/security precautions that you sign for your child's exact arrival and departure times daily.  When bringing your child to the centre, you must ensure that you child is brought into the building and left safely with a teacher before you leave.

Please advise the staff if someone different is collecting your child.  This person must be listed on your child’s Enrolment Form or you can notify the Centre Manager in writing on the day.  In an absolute emergency you can phone to advise us who will be collecting your child.  Please add this person to your Enrolment Form the next day.  If these procedures are not followed and the person is not one of the authorised people listed on the Enrolment Form, then they will not be permitted to collect your child.

Clothing
KiNZ is a place of fun and children’s learning can be messy!  Please ensure your child wears suitable clothing to play, explore and experiment!  Please bring a change of clothes each day for your child.  These are often needed if your child gets wet during water play, or there are other mishaps.  A sunhat is required during the summer, and a rain coat and gumboots for winter months.  Please name all items of clothing.|

Nappies (if applicable)
If your child is in nappies, please bring disposable nappies with them.  You may like to send an adequate supply each day in their bag, or alternatively provide a bulk packet for ongoing use.  Also include any applicable creams.  Please put your child’s name clearly on the packet/creams and sign the appropriate medicine forms at the centre.

Toileting
When you start toilet training at home, we will work in partnership with you to support your child though the process.  Please feel free to ask the staff for advice or any questions you may have.

Food and Drinks
At KiNZ we believe in the importance of helping children to understand what their bodies need in order to stay healthy.  We consider meal times a great time for social interaction and creating a healthy, positive attitude towards food.  KiNZ promotes healthy eating both at the centre and at home.

Nutritious meals (cooked lunches, morning and afternoon teas) are provided by the onsite KiNZ cook for your child to enjoy.  If your child has special dietary requirements due to allergies, a medical condition or family beliefs, please discuss these with the Centre Manager.
When you are introducing solids at home, please let the staff know so that we can support your child’s taste buds.

For children under two years of age, we request that you supply formula and bottles for use.  Please clearly label all bottles.  We are a breastfeeding friendly environment and the Parents Room is available for those who wish to use it.

Fresh drinking water is available at all times for children to access.

Food Allergies
Occasionally, we have children with severe food allergies.  Please avoid bringing nut or egg to the centre.  This includes nutella, peanut butter, peanut brownies, peanuts or nuts of any kind, hardboiled egg or egg sandwiches.  Please check with the staff when your child starts if you have any concerns.

Rest and Sleep Time
At KiNZ we recognise that each child is unique and comes to us with their own sleeping routine.  Therefore teachers will endeavor to follow individual children’s rhythms and routines in a relaxed and familiar environment.

We provide sleep and rest facilities, which are fully supervised.  During sleeping time the children who are approaching school age (4-5 years old) will have the option of participating in other activities.  The infant sleep routines will vary depending on individual needs and will be drawn up in consultation with parents/whanau.
